Ted: And my friends didn’t see me for the next 72 hours…
Robin (interrupting the music): …He was our ride.

Moments of Awesomeness
- The inspector (Gary Anthony Williams), this guy was hilarious tonight. I wish I could find a quote his inspection list rundown…including a hobo, that was awesome.
- Marshall’s games…. Drunk or a kid has to be an instant classic.
- What’s your favorite internet real estate auction site? Come on, we’ve all got one.
- Marshall is a great friend.
Wrap Up
I’ve decided to move at least some of my thought to the end. I like Ted centric episodes. I feel I may be in the minority sometimes but he is the central character of the story…other than the mother who we haven’t’ met, yet. I know Barney is a huge reason for the popularity show but the show is about Ted. If you don’t like that then…well, get over it.
So much was good about this episode. Ted’s uncomfortable reactions to what Clint has no problem talking about always get’s a laugh. Ted’s blackout really makes me wonder what turns the song took…and a 12 minute song? Wow.
The house was a huge focus of this, but the inspection of the house was just amazing. Gary Anthony Williams was amazing as the inspector. Plus someone needed to point out all the obvious to Ted (and Marshall). The short Barney and Robin bit felt kind of weak but they both played it so well. When NPH delivers lines like that you forget that you don’t care that much about someone crying at Clint’s song.
The sappy part of the night was actually very good. I think Ted & Marshall’s friendship is a under focused element of the show at times. Moments like when Marshall shows how well he knows Ted and stands up for him, make up for the absence though. Past the importance of the friendship, has to be Ted realizing that he has been going no where in his life for sometime…though it seems as though he has said similar things before. And despite the fact that he now owns he house that he lives in as he tells the story, we are really no closer to finding out who the mother is.
So basically, I laughed, but find out a lot more. Though I do have a new game to play now. What did everybody else think?

And this one got back to the mythology of the show.

Oh and I love the call back to the Ted’s sister episode where Barney first told Ted he and his mom kissed.
Good episode, but I think you’re missing about the mother. The most important plot of the serie, more clues about who’ll be she would be great!

I loved the episode, it’s great to see Ted moving on, the drunk or kid game was pretty funny too. It was one of those episodes that didn’t focus on being purely funny but that went a little beyond that. One thing though, when did Barney learn to drive?
In season 2 we find out he can’t actually drive but then he gave Ted’s mom a ride to the airport.
Does anyone know what song was playing when Barney was in the car with Ted’s mom btw?

I have to express my love for this episode. I watched it late, and was expecting to worst, because I read A LOT of negative comments on Twitter.
It was great! Like, Director91 said, it was a return to the mythology that made this show so great to begin with. It felt like an awesome Season 1 callback, and I’m very happy with it.

you’re right, it did have a season 1 feel to it which is kinda nice, I mean I like all the characters on the show and there was a time when Ted’s search for love didn’t seem that interesting to me but he’s still the main part of the show and they should really try to move his storyline along. come on how much has actually happened for him this season? not a lot, guys…
I haven’t been digging a lot of eps this season but this one was awesome.

Don’t you just think it’s amazing that Alyson Hannigan can still pull off playing the 18 year old? I totally buy it, every single time!
I agree with Phillip and Mary, they are doing a great job with the show, it did reminisce the season 1, but I also agree that since Ted is the main character, it would be nice to have more clues about Teds upcoming “future wife”, especially now that he has a house.
Was it just me or was Ted’s mom’s new husband super creepy and inappropriate? This episode was really funny and I have to say the most endearing thing about it is that Ted, usually the most stable of the group, kinda freaks out and makes what looks like a huge mistake; this move really humanizes him. I watched most episodes in HD thanks to my employee subscription to DISH Network. I’m definitely a loyal fan and will watch until the end, I just hope that it stays funny that long.
