Great ep. I got all the Lost references. Jorge Garcia is naturally funny.

The Blitz curse: true story. But I know a condition much worse: people that come and ruin what was good previously, just using bad luck.
I wasn’t feeling it. I think the Thanksgiving episode has set the bar so high the past few years. This one simply didn’t live up to they mental hype I gave myself.
Couple of thoughts: Zoey as a full-time member of the gang? Could it happen?
And we also had Lily’s first recognition as an artist. Added up with the knowledge of the soon to come extinction of corporate Marshall, could we see Lily becoming a full time painter with high enough income so Marshall doesn’t need the high income at all?
I’ll partially side with you. It may not have been as good as Slapsgiving but it was definitely better than Slapsgiving 2. IMHO.

On the Zoey thought… I’ve never thought of her being part of the gang. Only the Mother notion, which I don’t believe is the case at all.
a little bit of curiosity here…how old is zoey step daughter…could her daughter be “the mom” ?? refering to how old is zoey’s husband…

Noooooo!. Although, that would explain why there’s some tension in Zoey’s relationship.
I guess I’m just like Ted (earlier in the episode), Zoey is my mortal enemy. However, I think Zoey is more tolerable than Stella. Aarggh Stella!

I don´t think that zoey is the `mother`, but I think
Ted´s gonna date her for a while. in the episode ted tells
her to give the present to her stepdaughter next year and she
replies sth like: `yeaaaah…. next year, probably.. we´ll see..`.
but while I was writing this, the thought of her being the mother
popped up in my brain and it might be. It´s a great
story to tell your kids that before we were married your mum and
dad hated each other. and since the mother is the roommate, sat in econ 101
and went to the st.patricks day party it seems not to be possible at all..
but since I know the famous twistings in himym, I won´t focus
on zoey too much or my brain collapses.

There was the scene in “The Playbook” episode where Ted, Marshall, Robin, and another girl were singing. “Hell noooo……” “Hell noooo……” “Hell noooo……” In harmony. One of my favourite scenes.

My money is on Zoey’s stepdaughter being the Mother. The age thing adds up, plus it WILL make things interesting later if Ted does eventually develop feelings for Zoey. After all, we can’t have Ted meeting the Mother and then just marrying her without an interesting story leading up to that point, now can we?
First off, I wanna thank Aaron for posting the great reviews on this site. I visit it regularly since I discovered it and love it.
I don’t know I feel very uneasy about the feeling that zoey’s step-daughter could be the mother, since Zoey wanted to give her a turkey in stuffed animal form as a thanksgiving present. So she has to be eight years old, tops.

Concerning the theory of Zoey’s stepdaughter to be the mother i resolutely disagree for the reason Edwin mentioned. I want to add to this some kind of contradiction that has come up in my mind:
I guess Zoey is not older than 30 years, rather younger. She says that she had been married to the Captain at the age of 22, so they have been married at most 8 years. How can the Captain have a child aged at most 8 years (regarding the thanksgiving present Zoey wanted to give her, i think that child must be even younger).
That doesnt really make sense, since i do not believe at all that the Captain cheated on Zoey while they were married which would however be the only explanation.
What do you think of this?
One thing about the mother in general:
Ted can’t have met or even mentioned the mother (by name) in the story so far, for one simple reason:
When the name of the mother had been mentioned (provided that his children know their mothers name…) in any of the stories Ted told them, the children would have known that it’s their mother Ted is talking about and made some comment on it, like : Ah, so thats when you met Mom.
Obviously, they are bored by Ted telling the long story of how he met their mother so they must right when the mother is mentioned comment on it.
I wonder how Bays and Thomas are gonna solve that problem…
One thing that had me thinking, in one flashback Blitz is leaving to go play Madden 2k1, however Robin is in th group, wearing her attire from 2004, anybody able to explain this?
I actually find the theory of Zoey’s stepdaughter being the mother interesting. The Captain has a daughter from a previous relationship when he married Zoey so it’s highly possible that his daughter/ Zoey’s stepdaughter is already in her 20s or at an age close to Zoey’s.
Zoey did give her stepdaughter a stuffed turkey, but who says people in their 20s can’t get gifts like that? Based on past clues, Ted’s wife is on the eccentric side, i.e., she draws robots playing sports. Plus she owns that cute yellow toy bus, so it’s possible that she likes collecting cute stuff.
They said that Zoey will have an important role in the show, so could it be that she’ll be the one to connect Ted with his future wife? Interesting to see how the story will pan out, but I do hope that we’ll get to know the mother soon and see how her relationship with Ted develops.
